Elections, Evolution, and Ecstasy

You're probably wondering what the relevancy of the title of this blog could possibly be. Today is November 4th, 2008. We are truly blessed to live and work in a country governed by democracy. When we look across the globe, there are few who enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. If you are concerned for the future of America, for our children, grandchildren, and those we love, please use your voice and VOTE!

Today also happens to be the official release date for The Promise: Touching the Stone. Many of you have read the book, but if you haven't, I encourage you to consider it. If you are like I am--questioning the world, the economy, wondering if there is hope for the future, The Promise poses substantial, yet similar challenges to the characters, Chance and Lauren. I would love to hear from readers here on the blog and also on Amazon so that others can be touched by your words regarding how you have been impacted by all three stories--The Bracelet, The Touchstone, and The Promise. I call the writing of these stories "the evolution of faith" because I'm certain that my faith, and I hope the faith of those who have read all three books, has grown tremendously and come full circle through the stories. The books are now all available on Amazon and other major sites, can be requested through book stores, and I continue to provide signed copies by request.

Finally, ecstasy, a synonym for paradise, rapture, seventh heaven, bliss, delight, elation, euphoria, exaltation, happiness, heaven, joy. All of this and much more came to us on October 18th with the birth of our precious grandson. His name is Dawson Richard, he weighed 9.07 pounds, and he is truly a gift from God--a shining light in our lives. We count our blessings...and I wish many for each of you.

Sometimes...

We have to realize that we're not in control! I am sorry to say that I will not be able to attend the Mardel book signing tomorrow, October 17th, in Colorado Springs. We anxiously anticipate and welcome our new grandson, who will definitely be arriving tomorrow.
Blessings,
Maureen

Mardel Update

The Mardel signing has been scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon on the 17th.

Still Waiting...

Babies have a funny way of taking over the lives of everyone who loves them...even before they are born! We are still waiting for the little guy to make his grand entrance, and the anticipation is unbearable.

I am scheduled for a book signing at Mardel in Colorado Springs this Friday, October 17th, from 12 - 2. I will be there and hope to see many of you there, too. I'll post here if plans change.

Another Exciting Week!

Good Monday Morning!
It's another exciting week. We are anticipating the birth of our grandson any day. Hope mom and dad choose a name soon...

I will also enjoy speaking with a book club this week. I'm anxious to share with the eleven ladies who have read The Promise. Hopefully each found something personal to draw from the story.

Have a wonderful week,
M

Book Signing

Thanks to everyone for making the book signing at Morgan Community College a wonderful success.

The photo is of my friend, Ann, who did the original artwork for the cover of The Promise. The incredible painting is shown here. With us is my editor, Greg, who surely was sent to me by providence!

My next signings will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 17th. I'll post the times and places as they become available.

Have a wonderful week!

From THE PROMISE

Page 37 of The Promise...

On the bus that night after the show, Chance gazed out the window from the hushed place to which he had withdrawn. His thoughts pulled him back to the stage and the song he'd chosen to sing. He knew he wasn't walking alone, but maintaining his faith was a struggle at times. Chance understood that the Lord would test, try, and push him...and that his stubbornness would at times get in the way of Chance surrendering to what is... Sometimes he could make no sense of it--people like the reporters who wanted to write untruths or manipulate legitimacy to fit what the world might like to see. He couldn't reconcile hatred or people hurting one another, physically or emotionally. But the doubts and questions that riddled him were reminders of the imperfections that made him merely a man...

"Love one another as I have loved you." John 15:12

The Promise: Touching the Stone

Imagine this: you are married to the most handsome and electrifying pop star on the planet. Sound wonderful? Think again. What happens when temptation, deception, even doubt, loss and destruction enter the picture? In Maureen Kahl’s third novel, The Promise: Touching the Stone, will Chance and Lauren Harrison’s love…or their faith….survive forces that make them cry, “Why Lord?” Follow the couple on this third journey—a roller coaster ride to the heights of ecstasy and the depths of despair—where only one thing holds them together to the twisting track: The Promise.

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess,
for He who promised is faithful."
Hebrews 10:23
