May 2010 SpringTime in the Rockies

It's been quite some time since I posted a blog. I must admit, I couldn't remember my logon information and had to contact the creator of the blog! That, in itself, explains my hesitancy in writing; I would consider myself technologically frustrated.

We've had no spring in the Rockies. It's May 16th, and finally a day without rain, snow, gale-force wind, hail--sometimes all in one day! Colorado is the only state in which we can actually experience four seasons in 24 hours.

Since I'm learning to use Facebook and communicating much more through that site, I will attempt to link my blog to my Facebook page and will post only if I have something of interest to share with my readers.

Colorado Extremes

Well, here we are in mid-January, experiencing the typical Colorado winter. What's interesting about Colorado is that one can experience all four seasons, it seems, in a single day. Last week, we posted record-breaking temperatures--not low temperatures, but highs in the mid-70s. The bottom suddenly fell out, and the mountains gained two feet of snow. It was 12 degrees, with a biting windchill, here on the plains yesterday! Brrr...but the skiers and snowboarders are happy.

Wherever you are, I hope you have a warm week!
Blessings,
M

Elections, Evolution, and Ecstasy

You're probably wondering what the relevancy of the title of this blog could possibly be. Today is November 4th, 2008. We are truly blessed to live and work in a country governed by democracy. When we look across the globe, there are few who enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. If you are concerned for the future of America, for our children, grandchildren, and those we love, please use your voice and VOTE!

Today also happens to be the official release date for The Promise: Touching the Stone. Many of you have read the book, but if you haven't, I encourage you to consider it. If you are like I am--questioning the world, the economy, wondering if there is hope for the future, The Promise poses substantial, yet similar challenges to the characters, Chance and Lauren. I would love to hear from readers here on the blog and also on Amazon so that others can be touched by your words regarding how you have been impacted by all three stories--The Bracelet, The Touchstone, and The Promise. I call the writing of these stories "the evolution of faith" because I'm certain that my faith, and I hope the faith of those who have read all three books, has grown tremendously and come full circle through the stories. The books are now all available on Amazon and other major sites, can be requested through book stores, and I continue to provide signed copies by request.

Finally, ecstasy, a synonym for paradise, rapture, seventh heaven, bliss, delight, elation, euphoria, exaltation, happiness, heaven, joy. All of this and much more came to us on October 18th with the birth of our precious grandson. His name is Dawson Richard, he weighed 9.07 pounds, and he is truly a gift from God--a shining light in our lives. We count our blessings...and I wish many for each of you.

Sometimes...

We have to realize that we're not in control! I am sorry to say that I will not be able to attend the Mardel book signing tomorrow, October 17th, in Colorado Springs. We anxiously anticipate and welcome our new grandson, who will definitely be arriving tomorrow.
Blessings,
Maureen

Mardel Update

The Mardel signing has been scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon on the 17th.

Still Waiting...

Babies have a funny way of taking over the lives of everyone who loves them...even before they are born! We are still waiting for the little guy to make his grand entrance, and the anticipation is unbearable.

I am scheduled for a book signing at Mardel in Colorado Springs this Friday, October 17th, from 12 - 2. I will be there and hope to see many of you there, too. I'll post here if plans change.
